Chocolate Truffles

What is Christmas without a few Truffles?

My brothers later nicknamed these as "chocolate coma balls" because they are so rich they will put you in a chocolate coma. :) That doesn't sound so bad.
You could chose between the white chocolate or milk chocolate. Each was sprinkled with peppermint sugar. Inside there was either a gooey chocolate center, or a eppermint chocolate center.

They were so much fun to make!

Sweet Christmas Sugar Cookies

~Nothing says Christmas better than sweet, soft, sugar cookies decorated by hand .~
And yes-everything is made from scratch.

For Christmas my husband wanted me to make our families sugar cookies.
On Christmas day I was hand painting these beautiful sugar cookies.
I felt in the Christmas spirit as I was making these goodies for the people I love.

We went to Andy's family's home first on Christmas Day for the usual get together.
As always it was so much fun. :)

The candy canes took on a heart theme this year.
Some of these were served on the 26th when my family arrived to spend a few weeks with us.

One of my favorites.

This one was a special one for my husband.

A few freshly painted vanilla sugar cookies.
Everyone told me that they were so soft. :)

They were so much fun to make & I loved sharing them with my family.

A selection I took to the Christmas party.

The snowman is my one of my favorites-because of the hearts.
I may have eaten him...

I plan to possibly sell these next Christmas online on etsy.

I loved putting sprinkles on some of the cookies.

I loved how the gingerbread people came out. I think my nephews also enjoyed biting their heads off. lol.

I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas!

~Merry Christmas & God bless us everyone!!!~

Our Ramen Noodle Soup

My husband introduced me to the movie Ponyo-I've been in love ever since.
This would be my first attempt at drawing Ponyo.I think they are both so cute!
After watching the movie I wanted to make the ramen soup pictured above.
Andy and I chose the ingredients and just peiced things togehter as best we could. We made a great team. We bought fresh ingredients, msg free chicken broth, and went home to start cooking. Our finished product was delicious, healthy, and now a favorite meal.
Noodles, ham, mushrooms, chives, cilantro, egg, spices, & a little love transformed this into a delicious soup. It's a combination of ramen & egg drop soup.

I loved being over the warm stove and stirring the soup. It smelled so good.

Another drawing of Ponyo I've done. I highly suggest watching it. It's a wonderful movie.

Thankful

Thanksgiving & Thankfulness

As usual in my family I was asked to make the green bean casserole. It has been a holiday favorite for years. When I first began having Thanksgiving with my husband's family they did not have any green bean casserole, but now it's a staple on the table every Thanksgiving.
I can't help but be reminded of all the many wonderful Thanksgivings I've had with my family. I'm very blessed to have the family that I do, and I am thankful for them.
A few years ago I came up with my own little recipe for candied yams and it's been a family favorite ever since. I allow the marshmallows on top to brown. I love the contrast of sweet yams to the crunch of the marshmallows.
I'm thankful for the gifts and abilities God has given me. I'm thankful that both of my little businesses are flourishing, and that I'm still able to follow my bigger plans for my businesses while coming up with new ideas.
I'm am probably most thankful for my husband. He has been supportive through all my endeavors. I appreciate his friendship more then he will ever know. Even after all these years I find him fascinating, and he still gives me chills when he kisses me. All the wonderful things he does aside I love him just as he is and am thankful to have him and to be with him everyday.

I'm thankful for these things and so many more.

What a wonderful Thanksgiving!

November Bake Sale

Apple Spice Chocolate Chip Cookies
How it got to be November, I'm still not sure, but here we are at the November bake sale.
Due to the number of crochet orders I had with my other business BubbleUp Creations :
I was not able to take anything but my pre-orders this month. I was thankful for them though.
I needed some baking time.
The apple spice chocolate chip cookie is one of my husband's favorites.
It is also one of my top sellers for cookies.
~
With oats, walnuts, chocolate chips, and apple spice this is a perfect holiday cookie.
Here are a few batches cooling. Notice one missing---that would be my husband's doing. ;)
They come out so soft and gooey!

I sprinkle some apple spice on top.
These cookies go great with hot chocolate.
I sell them for $7 a dozen.

Tonight I have to go home and finish baking the pumpkin spice brownies, and the pumpkin pie! I can't wait!!! :) The November bake sale was so much fun!

These are my kitchen helpers. I love to fill our snowman cookie jar up with cookies. It's funny how I'll come downstairs and find it magically empty. ;)

The holiday baking is in full swing. I can't wait to make candied yams & the green bean casserole! Not much longer until Thanksgiving Day! I hope everyone has a wonderful holiday!
